HALLOWEEN 2011

Today I got to attend THREE Halloween Celebrations and it was so much fun.
CALEB'S PARTY
I started off with Caleb's 1st grade class watching him play "Pin the Wart on the Witches Nose."

scary teeth!

KELLIE'S CELEBRATION
I then wandered across the hall to Kellie's preschool.
She was a Mermaid this year.
(If she were to turn around you'd see her tail.)

Kelllie's class went outside on the playground and had a gourd hunt. Kellie found one!

AARON'S CLASS
I then wandered over to the 4th grade where Aaron had quite the trick happen. He bit into a piece of taffy and lost a tooth! You can see his tooth necklace if you look closely!

LEVI
Then we came home and started rummaging through our costume box and this is what Levi dressed himself in. Cute, huh?

THIS is what he actually wore out tonight:

Here's the kids getting ready to go trick or treating.

Kellie is 5!

Early in the day Grandma and Poppa j stopped by to deliver some gifts for the birthday girl.
Her Princess jewelry box, puzzle and tiara were a big hit!
For dinner, Kellie wanted cheesy eggs, french toast and bacon. Yum.
 Presents!
Looks like it was a big year for Rapunzel and Princesses!
 The Cake!
Happy 5th Birthday sweet Kellie!

Another package arrived in the mail with more gifts!
What a lucky girl!

Can You Tell...

...the difference between a 4 year old
and a 5 year old?

Two of these pictures were taken yesterday and two of them were taken today. Kellie INSISTS that she can tell a difference because 5 year olds ARE bigger. Hmmm... Not sure I can see it, but if she says so... :)

(The 2 on the top were of a 4 year old Kellie... the 2 on the bottom were taken today, and she is CLEARLY 5! Just ask her!)

5 years ago today we added our beautiful little girl into the family.
We were pretty excited to see that little pink bow!
Kellie, we love you!

snowMOWer

Our son Levi is a true Man's Man. He loves his power tools and is especially fond of our lawn mower. Every time he goes in to the garage he gets really excited to see it and starts shrieking, "Mow, Mow, Mow!" He even has his own toy bubble mower that he gets out and follows Matt around the yard to "help" him mow. Talk about excited!
He has been pretty distraught lately since it is Fall and we haven't been pulling out the mower. He doesn't seem to understand that the grass just doesn't need to be mowed since it is no longer being watered. He looks longingly at the mowers every day. It's really pretty sad.
Well today Matt went and added a new "tool" to the garage. He took Levi with him to help him pick out a SNOW "MOWER". (We figured it might be better to let him keep on saying "Mow, Mow, Mow!" instead of "Blow, Blow, Blow!") So we now own a snowMOWer! Guess all we need now is some snow to mow! :)

Levi and the snowMOWer.
Our snowMOWer.
Our side walk goes from where Matt is standing with the camera to Aaron - who is standing at the corner of our property, far off in the distance.
Here is the other side of our corner. Again, our sidewalk goes from the corner, to where Aaron is standing off in the distance.

Cub Scout Space Derby

Aaron participated in his first ever Space Derby. It's kind of like a Pinewood Derby, but you build space rockets instead. Here's some pictures...

Big Shoes to Fill...

Levi doesn't like to keep his own shoes on, but absolutely LOVES to wear anyone elses's shoes! I admit that it makes me smile when I hear him clomping around in his Daddy's shoes! :)

Just Because it Made Me Smile...

Since we moved I have been in charge of teaching the 12 and 13 year old girls at church. For this week's Class Activity we had a babysitting class where we taught the girls all about babysitting and we assembled babysitting kits for them to use. At one point in the evening we had the girls practice diapering and I couldn't stop giggling about poor Ratatouille here. The young woman did her best and even tried really hard to make sure his little legs were outside the diaper. (Although his arms are hopelessly lost!)
Even now, I'm still giggling a little... :)

"Sew" Proud...

...of my $4 purse!

This purse is made out of a fabric place mat and ribbon. I found the place mat in the discounted section for $2.99 and then I bought some ribbon to match. (Which I found on sale, too!) All in all, I think it turned out pretty cute for a project that cost me less than $5. (Plus I have a cute bag to carry my scriptures, journal and other papers in!) I am "SEW" proud of myself, since I  don't normally sew a lot and because I was able to finish it without having to take it to my Mom to fix! (Although, I admit- there was a phone call or two to ask for help...) Oh well... Go me! :)
