Caleb's Scotsman

Caleb has been working on a heritage project for school. He had to pick one country from his ancestry and then research traditional clothing and make his little heritage doll. I was a little surprised when he chose Scotland, after all the boys are in "skirts" -I mean kilts- but he was sure that is what he wanted. These pictures are of his doll- note the kilt is even pleated in back! Good job Caleb!

Too much fun...

Seth's First Cereal

Seth is full of new surprises these days! Last week he started rolling over and today we noticed he has a brand new tooth peeking though the gums! He sure is growing up fast. Tonight he tried his first cereal as well. Overall it was a hit but we might do better without so much "help" from the "peanut gallery" (namely Levi and Kellie) next time.
They were so excited that they kept talking VERY loudly at him, encouraging him to "EAT! EAT! EAT!" Quite frankly I don't think he could eat under that kind of pressure!
Here's the Boy in his Halloween bib.
(note to self- buy him some new bibs next time you're at the store!)

Thank you, Porters!

Circus Afro thoughts

A few months ago Caleb saw a preview for a scary movie and he has been having a hard time forgetting the images. We counseled him that every time he sees the image in his mind he should hum his favorite song. He chose I Am A Child of God, (a favorite hymn from church) then quickly asked if he could have another song in his mental "playlist".
"Sure," I told him.
"Good, because I really like the CIrcus Afro song from Madagascar 3."
Whatever works, Caleb, whatever works. :)

Seth is having fun...

Seth recently learned to roll over! In fact he did it for the very first day on Christmas day. (I may actually have a chance of remembering that!)
He has been trying really hard to finally roll over-
but he wasn't too sure he liked it once he got there...
Here's the "after" photo:
He also spent some time today talking with Grandpa. Here's my two guys!

Penguin Party!

We invited some lovable penguins to our
Christmas Eve dinner!

Getting Ready to Roll

Seth enjoys spending time on the floor. Lately he's been working on a new trick - he's almost got it figured out, and he's happy about it!

Levi loves Hats...

Anybody who has spent any time around our little Levi knows that he LOVES to put things on his head and wear them as hats. Today, however, we were a little surprised to see his latest chapeau!

Kellie's Santa

I was lucky enough to go to Kindergarten for a while on the last day of school before Winter Break. I had fun helping Kellie make her Santa puppet. I have to say Kindergarten is the place to be if you want to get in a holiday mood!

"Rejected" Christmas Card photos

These were the photos we didn't pick for our Christmas card. We had too many cute ones not to share these though.  I sure love my kids!
Be looking for our cards in the mail soon!

A Holiday "Crime" in Progress...

Looks like SOMEBODY couldn't wait to eat a graham cracker house...
(I sure love that kid!)

Graham Cracker Houses 2012

My niece, Jessica came to visit for a week while she was on her holiday break from college. While here, she met her newest cousins, played with our kids and helped us create our annual Graham Cracker Houses.

 Jessica meeting Seth
 Matt and Seth
Levi LOVED Jessica and frequently crawled up in her lap for a snuggle.
Waiting for dinner; Jessica, Levi and Kellie.
 such adoration...
Once again, Caleb and Grandma were paired up to make their house.
This year, instead of a house, Levi and I covered ice cream cones and made a Christmas tree forest.
 Jordan and Spencer
Kellie and Jessica were partners this year.
Aaron insisted on building one by himself this year.

Matt's Holiday "Pi"

Matt received a holiday "pi" from his boss this year!
She filled this stocking with all kinds of goodies to share with the family.

Levi is Excited!

We wrapped all the presents and put them under the tree last night. Levi was so excited this morning- he thought Santa had come.
When we explained things to him his eyes got super big and he said, "You mean there's MORE?"
I love 3 year olds at Christmastime!

Manners...

Tonight, as I was getting after Kellie for slurping her noodles instead of biting them off- she started giggling. Not realizing what was so funny, she reminded me that she CAN'T use good manners right now- she's missing her two top teeth! She thought she was so lucky to get a break from my scolding and I have to admit we all shared a giggle or two tonight. We even sang
All I Want For Christmas is my Two Front Teeth!:)
Never thought teeth would trump manners.

Who knew?

When Levi is Mad...

For some reason whenever Levi gets mad he starts stripping. He then takes his discarded clothes and throws them at you. This has been extremely embarrassing at times. (Like when he stripped in the school parking lot...)
Today, when he got mad at me I couldn't help taking a picture. I'm sure he will hate it when I show it to his girlfriend some day to pay him back for all the times he's embarrassed ME!
