Fire

I thought about making a joke about all the many candles on Matt's birthday cake getting out of hand, seeing whereas today is Matt's birthday, but decided against it... here's the real story:

This is the view from our front porch today... 

The oil rig between our 2 subdivisions was on fire. Luckily they got it contained but it was pretty wild and smoky there for a while.

Elementary Choir Concert

Last night was the elementary choir concert. They sang songs from around the world and spent several months memorizing all the different foreign words so they could perform. They did a fabulous job.

Caleb's "Wild Minion"

Today was the Pinewood Derby. Caleb placed 3rd place in the Bear Den. Great job, buddy!

Kellie's New Glasses

Kellie got her new glasses today. The sides (or arms) are a translucent pink and the part that frames the lenses is kind of a translucent purple. It was a good compromise, since Kellie couldn't decide on any ONE color. Looking Beautiful, there, Kellie!

18 months

Out little Seth is not so little! 18 months today! 

Levi wasn't tired...

Levi insisted that he wasn't tired... so of course this is how I found him a few minutes later. I have no idea how he can sleep with his legs hanging off like that- but he doesn't seem to care.

FIVE brothers...

Today at our ultrasound we found out that Baby #6 is actually Brother #5 for Kellie. She took the news really well, actually. First she yelled, "NO!" and then started laughing uncontrollably. When we got home she went upstairs, placed her tiara on her head and let me take this picture of her. Seems to me that she can find some perks in being the only little girl around here. (Although she did ask if we can still count Sally, our dog. We need to boost our numbers somehow!)

Where's My Food?!?

I looked over today and saw that Seth had cleverly hidden his newly emptied plate of food. 

His smile seems to say to me, "What food? Are you serving food? I'd like some food..."

Kellie at Christmastime

The 1st grade class did a wonderful holiday presentation. Each of the kids memorized a few lines of a poem, and then they sang holiday songs to us. Kellie was very nervous- but did such a good job! She insisted that she needed to look nice and dress up for the occasion, so we had some fun with her hair! Love, love, love having a girl among all these boys!

Grinch Party

Caleb had to wear "Grinch Green" for their class "Grinch-mas" party- where everything, clothes, food, etc. was green. (The 2nd photo is Caleb trying to give us his best"Grinchy" smile!)

Early Christmas Present for Matt

Matt's receiving an early Christmas present when he gets home! (...mainly due to Seth's morning rampage! )

Today Seth has managed to dirty 2 outfits (hence the naked-ish baby photo), danced on the kitchen table while I was trying to wrap presents, scattered my ribbons all over the room, spilled 1/2 a box of snacks, dumped an unfinished mug of hot chocolate, and is now currently dancing in the oven drawer. 

Is it nap time yet?

Seth's 1st Haircut

Recently Seth has been sporting the "long patches on top that look like a comb-over" look. The time had finally come to give him a haircut. His reaction was priceless... he giggled through the whole thing.

Aaron's Concert

Aaron did a beautiful job at his concert tonight. So proud of all the practice and effort he's put in.

 (We even had fun decorating his horn!)

I was too late to get a picture of Sally nose-down, plowing through the snow- although I can confirm that she thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll just call her Snowplow Sally- either that or we can call the poor thing a PUPsicle.
