Mother's Day
Matt was called out of town for work on Mother's Day this year. It wouldn't have been so bad but he has been gone for the better part of every week for about 6 weeks now- and it does get kind of tiring, especially with me being very pregnant.
About 7 sweet ladies at church surprised me the Saturday before Mother's Day by bringing a whole days worth of meals over. Breakfast- lunch- dinner- and paper plates too! It was such a thoughtful gift.
That night (about 8:30) and after I already had my pajamas on I was surprised again with a knock at the door. Matt had sent me flowers! (I don't normally answer the door that late, but I figured anybody standing out in the rain holding flowers was probably okay...that and Matt had told me he ordered them and was surprised I hadn't received them. I figured they'd arrive on Monday- so it really was a surprise when they came so late! )
Scaredy-Dog
This Spring we have had our share of thunder storms and this poor dog is such a chicken. We had 3-4 days where she literally would not leave my side, morning or night. You can see the fear in her eyes. Big, lovable 4-legged furry chicken.
Surprise!
Last week I happened to look out my door to see that somebody had planted all 5 of the sad empty pots on my porch. I had every intention of planting them, but with Matt travelling so much I have been so busy that I just never got around to it.
Thank you, whoever surprised us!

Caleb goes Shakespearean!
Today Caleb participated in the School District GT Shakespeare Festival. 200 students from 10 elementary schools gather in the park and perform various Shakespeare plays.
Our school did The Comedy of Errors. I was so impressed that these young kids were able to memorize every line and perform as well as they did. They clearly worked so hard on this.
Caleb was fabulous as Duke Solinus. Bravo!

Some days...
Because some days you just feel like crying...
(not to worry... 10 minutes later he was happy again- watching singing snowmen on TV- the handful of jelly beans probably helped, too.)

Fire
I thought about making a joke about all the many candles on Matt's birthday cake getting out of hand, seeing whereas today is Matt's birthday, but decided against it... here's the real story:
This is the view from our front porch today...
The oil rig between our 2 subdivisions was on fire. Luckily they got it contained but it was pretty wild and smoky there for a while.

Elementary Choir Concert
Last night was the elementary choir concert. They sang songs from around the world and spent several months memorizing all the different foreign words so they could perform. They did a fabulous job.

Caleb's "Wild Minion"
Today was the Pinewood Derby. Caleb placed 3rd place in the Bear Den. Great job, buddy!
His car, "The Wild Minion". (patterned after the purple minions in Despicable Me 2)

Kellie's New Glasses
Kellie got her new glasses today. The sides (or arms) are a translucent pink and the part that frames the lenses is kind of a translucent purple. It was a good compromise, since Kellie couldn't decide on any ONE color. Looking Beautiful, there, Kellie!

Levi wasn't tired...
Levi insisted that he wasn't tired... so of course this is how I found him a few minutes later. I have no idea how he can sleep with his legs hanging off like that- but he doesn't seem to care.

FIVE brothers...
Today at our ultrasound we found out that Baby #6 is actually Brother #5 for Kellie. She took the news really well, actually. First she yelled, "NO!" and then started laughing uncontrollably. When we got home she went upstairs, placed her tiara on her head and let me take this picture of her. Seems to me that she can find some perks in being the only little girl around here. (Although she did ask if we can still count Sally, our dog. We need to boost our numbers somehow!)

Where's My Food?!?
I looked over today and saw that Seth had cleverly hidden his newly emptied plate of food.
His smile seems to say to me, "What food? Are you serving food? I'd like some food..."
