Yesterday was kind of a big day for us. Aaron started school and it was also our 9th anniversary. It was a big day for reflection. I think the first day of school is always a bit nostalgic, as it forces you look at your kids and actually take time to stop and realize that your babies just aren't babies anymore. The fact that it was also our anniversary was kind of special. I love those days that force you to stop, look around and be grateful. Matt and I reminisced a bit last night about how far we've come. Here's what we came up with:
9 years
1 marriage
2 adults
3 kids
1 dog
2 states
5 apartments
1 house
numerous giggles
lots of love
eternity to look forward to
Matt brought me some peach roses. (We had peach colored roses at our wedding, so it was kind of nice that he remembered!)
Our cards. (Matt has a gift for picking out cards with just the right message. I wish I had that gift, I tend to pick out cards with cute pictures!)
We went to dinner at Applebees last night. The kids joined us. It didn't exactly make for a "romantic" evening, but mostly fun nonetheless. They are a 'product' of our marriage, so I guess it was only fitting that they help us celebrate. Next year, however, I think we'll find a babysitter.
