Pop quiz: What do three days (and nights) of steady rain, a leaky crawlspace, and a dirt floor equal?
Answer: Muddy water. Submerged water heater. No hot water.
We returned from a weekend at Grandmas only to discover that all the rain we had has flooded our crawlspace. At some point the water was high enough to submerge the pilot light on our hot water heater, rendering it useless. After several phone calls to dad and Jordan (our local heating and air conditioning heroes!), and an hour or two of work, Matt was able to take it apart, drain the mud and water, and relight the pilot light. Luckily everyone, (but Julie!) had bathed at Grandma's before we drove home. Not wanting to miss church, I braved a very, VERY, VERY cold shower. (I'm hoping there's brownie points in heaven for this somehow...) Here's the damage...
The water seeped in through the lid on our crwlspace, and flooded the floor.
If you look at the muddy line on the hot water heater, you can see how high the muddy water reached. THANK YOU DAD AND JORDAN, YOU ARE OUR HEROES!

Julie, that's horrible! I'm so sorry, that's not fun! I'm glad that with your dad and Jordan's expertise, Matt was able to get it fixed up again. The fun of being a home owner, huh? Yuck!
