FIRST GRADE!

Aaron started school today! It seems so strange that he is already a big first grader. When he started Preschool and Kindergarten, he was so nervous that he wouldn't let me leave until after the bell rang, and class was getting started. (In Kindergarten, he even cried a bit, before I left.) Today, we walked right to his classroom, met his teacher again, and went out to the playground to wait for the bell to ring. We found the sign that shows us where his class lines up, and then he turned to me and said, "Well, Mom, I think I'm good." He said it as if to tell me, "you're dismissed." I think it was kind of cute actually. When the bell rang, he waved to me, gave Caleb a hug, kissed Kellie, and then we left. My little boy is not so little anymore. Here's hoping he has a great first day of first grade!
At home before we left. Please note the new shirt. When we got to the classroom and met his teacher again, he said, "Do you like my new shirt? I picked it out. I think I look rather nice actually." (and yes, he actually used the word actually)
In the classroom, in front of their calendar.
Aaron in front of his door. In case you couldn't tell, his teacher's name is Ms. Cisneros.

Aaron, I LOVE YOUR SHIRT!!! You look so handsome! Those are great pictures! Isn't this back to school stuff fun?
That's cute that he said he was good. It kind of makes you sad, but I'd much rather have my kids be like that and independent rather than crying and not wanting me to leave. I don't know, I guess I've just seen a lot of the "cry"ers lately. I'm so glad that Brendan hasn't done that and that he just goes in there and is fine. It'd be hard for me if he cried.
I love that Aaron said 'actually'. Brendan uses that word too. I'm thinking we must say it a lot or something. Where else would they get it from? That's so cute! Well, he looks pretty happy and it sounds like it was a fabulous day! Good job! Once again, Aaron...you are sure good-lookin' in your new shirt! I love it!

I absolutely LOVE Aaron's comment about the dogs on 'Snow Dogs' getting friendly. That's classic, I love it. I would be totally worried and holding my breath as I'm sure you were, until I heard his response. That was a huge sigh of relief. Priceless!
